don't look back in anger

resolve resolved

Sacrifices. When I did that stupid thing, everyone told me not to do it. I tendered my resignation without getting a job first. But I knew that it'd be tough to get a job with a three month notice period. Not many companies are willing to buy a well-paid n00b out of his contract too.

I am a n00b because of where I choose to go. I am going to work with a system I have never even seen before. My knowledge of the system is zilch. I tell ppl I understand businiess processes, but not many ppl will take a techie's word for it. Besides my knowledge there isn't good enough either.

Then I unofficially agreed to stay in the company for an extra month. I kept my word and only resigned a month after I told them. Why? I agreed with Ho that I'd stay in the company for some time when he offered me the job in exchange for a quick confirmation. But that turned out complicated anyway. He did reimburse me well financially though.

Then I got the offer, the job I wanted in the beginning. Thank God I resigned when I did, or else I wouldn't get the job. They even offered to buy me out of the remaining 3 weeks of my contract. But Mr. Ho and Mr. Chan were gracious enough to let me go early since I stayed for the extra month anyway.

Now I am gonna do another stupid thing. I am choosing to honour my newly signed contract with my new employers, and resist the temptation of another job from a much bigger company. They offer a much better pay, training in Manila, overseas clients, and ultimately my ambition of being a consultant instantly whereas I have to do technical programming with my new employers for 2 years first. They also told me that I can choose not to honour the contract with my new employers since the term has not started yet. But it's ok, I don't need the money yet.. and it's only HR ><

I am really excited after watching the Liverpool performance in the Community Shield match. Bellamy and Gonzalez played well today and look like good prospects. They gave Liverpool a spring in their step and added another dimension to their attack. Pennant and Aurellio were a bit quiet for me though. But my man of the match is Muhammed Sissoko. He frustrated me countless times last seasons with his use of the ball. However he is vastly improved this season and seems to have a free licence in the middle of the park. His moment of the match was when he did a Zidanesque turn on the ball. What a player!

Watched it with a Chelsea fan. My little taunts and indirect insults really piled on the misery.. haha! Shevchenko looks a class act. I think he is going to set the Premiership alight this season.

I am really glad to be able to speak to Sam, if only for a moment. He shed a lot of light on escapism and addiction. It was invigorating to listen to his views expressed with such enthusiasm and truth. There's only the simple task left of acting out what we believe...

Hoh! This guy just scored a spectacular hattrick against me in FM. They were 3-1 up and my team was down to 10 men. We won 4-3 anyway. But the audacity!! Kerlon is his name and he is also called the Seal. He is only 17 this year and he is touted by some as the next Ronaldinho. Wanna know why he is called the Seal? Check this video out! Good stuff!! More videos on him are available at YouTube.com.

Sigh, I can't find Jane Monheit's Taking A Chance On Love. I like her version of it. Can anyone help me? Right now I'll just have to be content with her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, which I might add, is excellent. Check her out if you have time.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

I totally blew my top for the past couple of days. It was a clash of personality, but I think I went over the line. I just couldn't take it anymore!!! I felt like bursting out of my clothes, turning green and smash everything in sight. Too bad to those affected ><

I was so happy to see the "Persimpangan USJ 27 km" sign I could kiss it. I reached home just in time to go for futsal! It really lifted my spirits. I didn't play much as I was very late, but the "manager" let us play 1 half in their friendly game. Woohoo! I scored the first goal and made a lot of mistakes at the back. We still won 5-2 in a 15 min half. Fun :D

I miss good ol' Gordon Strachan.

"I have to stop you there. Decent is not good enough because, when we don't do well, the adjectives are very strong, so, when we win, let's have the same. Excellent performance, excellent."
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan when asked if he thought the 4-1 win over Kilmarnock was a 'decent' start to the defence of their SPL title.

"I am very happy here in Munich playing for the best team in Europe, that is, unless Real Madrid make Bayern an offer for me."
Lucio, quoted in various German newspapers... causing the Bayern manager, Uli Hoeness, to see red !!

I am really impressed with the Singaporean media. Their local series like Maggi & Me and ABC DJ are really good. Their radio stations are pretty good too. Wednesday was their National Day and a lot of them came to JB causing massive jams. I feel more patriotic towards them already. Maybe I'll go there in 4 yrs? My friend, seriously consider that.. I think it's better than working in UK!! :P

breaking up is hard to do

Caught The Break-Up at the weekend. Warning : spoilers ahead. I must say I didn't forsee the ending to end the way it did. It reminds us that .. as far as some things are meant to be, some things are just not meant to be.. until they are meant to be again.. @@

Google "breakup" and this is the first link. lol

Mmm.. peanut butter and jelly doughnut :)
1 doughnut can make many ppl happy. Firstly, the receiver is happy and a few "friends" of the receiver who gets a piece of the doughnut are also happy. Then the giver of the doughnut is happy the receiver is happy, which makes the "friends" of the giver happy too. So.. pledge 1 doughnut to me today and we can make the world a happier place.

Speaking of which.. I might just need the doughnut now. I am in Johor again. Working with some ppl makes me so frustrated it's almost funny. Sigh..

I signed the contract on Monday. Today I got a call offer from somewhere bigger offering something better.. along with a holiday/training in Manila. Is it too late? The answer will come on Friday.

Patience..

urusai urusai urusai !

Well this is a combined post of a few days' worth of thoughts (kinda), so it's gonna be very long.

Shakugan no Shana - this anime made its spot on my favourites list. It is not one of those brain sapping animes which require us to think so much, it's just pure fun! I like the song.. so cute! I love the Firefox Unplug extension.. you get to get download the videos from youtube.com ;)

I got a yuk kon (saman) in front of Public Bank while fixing my bank account. Sigh, there goes more cash. The funny thing is they can't tell the color of my car. Warna : tak pasti. Well I can't tell either..

Wow! I just got a call from an old friend. She's in Singapore now. I guess it's pretty lonely there. She told me her phone hasn't rang for weeks. She's really working hard. Anyway I am so happy to get her call. Hope to see her at year end.

Well I got information that work in my new company isn't gonna as hard as I thought it was. Hmm I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. A bad thing for certain is my pay is reduced.. for a whole year! Yes I am signing the offer letter for the job tomorrow morning. D-day is looming. Holds breath.

The magical breakfast store @USJ2 just produced another miracle. I am enticed to their egg tarts. That makes me hooked to 4 of their items. More to come perhaps?

What a weekend. No futsal / cg this week. Wasn't that bummed, went for a nice dinner :) Don't you love food?
Ah believe me when I say I looked foward to worship lead in prayer meet on Wednesday. I also enjoyed leading the Form 1 discussion group. I guess I like to do some things more than the others. But I am sure I didn't do them as well as I wanted to. There's so much more room for improvement. Will you guys help me?

I am a patient man. I just found out that I am not a patient man in certain situations. I realized my expectations for certain people are way too high than they ought to be. I become rather harsh when they fail to deliver or meet my expectations. Hmm must recalculate.

Was surfing around.. and found this list. It is not wrong to surf for food ok? This blog and its links ain't too bad either.

Ah this should put him in the mood..

This happened again. Why them?

Was watching Shelley Leong last night, and I have to say I really gotta agree with James on this one. She's not that bad, her friend told me she has improved.. which I can only imagine what horrors he went through last year.

After her was the Funk Mob. Their performance was exhilirating!! The fun started when Army Amy and Shaolin Shalyn asked us guys to move right in front of the action. That was a classic moment cos Jared had to carry the Shaolin handbag through the crowd with me laughing at him. Well the view up front was excellent being able to see them in action (and some chicks prancing around). Er.. the focus is on the music, on the music. A surreal experience!!

Can't wait for the season to begin. Will leave you with a song from Blinqué..
